Gary grew up near Andover in Hampshire where he still lives with his wife Emma and baby daughter Charley. He has owned more cars, both good and bad, than you can shake a stick at. These include numerous modified Minis, a Triumph Spitfire, (good God!) as well as a few hot hatchbacks.

His first real car was a 1991 TVR S3 in Porsche purple. 7 Years of trouble free motoring followed in probably the best car he has ever owned.

TVR ownership was his first link to track days and the first on-track experience was in a 4.5 ltr TVR Cerbera at Thruxton. In his own words, ‘one of my most terrifying experiences to date'.

Next was a brace of silver 172 Clios. One for him and one for Emma. The Clio only lasted a year as a serious yearning for an Impreza turbo existed. The TVR and the Clio were both sold and a brand new Impreza WRX STi arrived in March 2003.

It took about 3 months for him to decide to modify the STi. The end result was 329bhp and 313ib ft of torque. Not bad for a 2ltr engine.
