A sprint? On closed roads? In the Isle of Wight?

    Seems yes

Until the locals get their teeth into the plans.

    We shall see.

Thankfully that's an SEP for me.

I'm going to be perilously short on excuses not to compete in it though!

Licence is what - 46 by post.

It's the in date suit/boots/helmet and maybe even HANS you'll have to 'obtain' for it.

    Well that sounds fun!

I'd absolutely be up for that! Nice excuse for a trip over!

Well, if I wind up getting all that, it'd be a shame just to do one event, right?

Looking at the plans - if I were going to all the effort of applying for track licences, permits and orders (as if - what nutter would put themselves through all that ) I'd maybe have been a *bit* more ambitious with the circuit length?

No matter - still massive fun and and feels a bit naughty to drive.

Here's a video clip of Motofest from last year - winning run.
Weeman and I both competed in this same event, falling close but behind this time.

James and I just decided yesterday that we'd organise it all again for 2020, and if we're doing 2020 then it'd probably be rude not to do 2021 too, given it's Coventry's turn to be City of Culture an' all.

I'm just gutted it's not on one of the roads out here in the West Wight - can think of a couple which would be amazing and have very few neighbours.

Agreed it does look very short. What's been the length of the Coventry track?
