    New TF pictures website

    Well, 'sort of' new.

Claire's going it alone now and is taking TF pictures almost daily, she's even got her own website www.nurburgring-pictures.com

    Yesterday's batch

And I know I've posted it twice, but nobody ever looks in the picture section. I'll buy Gary a Curly Wurly

Just an idea, but I feel anyone can get a pic like this as a still from a video or a mate's iphone.

Take advantage of the fact Claire knows the best places to be and create something more artistic by panning with the car in the photos, which will stand out from the huge volume of snappers there are

Mirrorless cameras make it a lot easier to do these days

Also try zooming out during the shot for some locations that could work well

    e.g.

Anyhoo, I hope it goes well

Love the idea of that, Hobbit.

I wonder if she knows how to achieve that effect? I certainly don't

To be fair, first timers just want a photo of their car on the ring. The artistic stuff is for those of us with 100's of photos of our car already.

Whilst taking photo, at say 1/30 shutter speed, zoom out / in on the lens (I'm assuming dSLR)

Yeah, i'm just throwing it out there. The site could be doing £10k/month for all I know, so it could be a stupid suggestion, but i just think first timers who "just want" a photo will get stuff from facebook or their mates with an iphone at brunnchen, not pay £8.50 and appreciate someone's sat there all day taking high res photos

Whereas if you do something "spesh", you could sell less but charge more

Again, i'm just speculating and it could all be nonsense, but if it were me i'd rather pay £100 for something i could stick on a wall that i couldn't do myself from the trip, than £10 on something that someone else could snap

Collages are also good. I don't know if any software exists, but some number plate recognition and a generator of images into templates could create a collage of photos of the same car throughout the day at various places

<quick google for collage creator> of course software exists... probs not for the identification of number plates but you could throw up some examples and then say, "if you want one, send me your numberplate and i'll see how many pics I have"

    Is it over-complicating things?

Just ask Ian H about the muppet on the VX220 page on FB who deleted his post and went commenting on his pictures as Ian asked if he was going to buy his pictures of his car on the Ring.

The amount of people who go, screen shot the photo and wont buy one as they "cost to much" is mental.

Apparently they do it for the fun of it

And I suspect you would get maybe one or two good photos an hour.

Panning, yes, the photos will be subjectively more interesting. Many of the DN shots already are and you can see Claire is running quite a low shutter speed already - there is motion captured in the wheels in some photos.... but trying to roll the barrel within the 1/30 when the shutter is open?

You've got about as much chance of a good Brexit as you have getting enough good shots to make that commercially worthwhile.

Also, from experience of shooting to get this effect - probably 50% of people absolutely hate the look.
