    5 km run for charity

As a result of peer pressure at work, I have agreed to do a 5 km Race For Life for cancer research on Thursday next week.
Now I know for a lot of you on here that do marathon's, triathalons and even 5km park runs for fun at the weekends, this will not sound like much of a challenge.
However I have not done any running since my school days nearly four decades ago, and in fact had to go out and buy a pair of trainers yesterday as I didn't have any shoes sutiable for doing any such activity.
Plus someone at work has calculated that the actual route distance is closer to 6.1 kilometers in length!

The "good news" is that my inevitable suffering in doing this is all in aid of good cause, namely raising money for cancer research.
So if any of you would like to sponsor me, please could you make a donation at the following URL:

    https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.o.../paul-dadswell

    Thanks,
    Paul.

I'll get Helen to bore you stupid about running when you aren't even being chased by anything next time we see you.
Simon no longer owes me anything, Dave does though.
Floyd probably owes me at least twenty with the interest rolling up...

    Thanks

Good news is I did it. On the hottest day of the year, I managed to complete the 6.2 km course in less than 42 minutes. (Haven't got the exact time because I forgot to press the stopwatch when I finished - probably because of heat exhaustion ).

Bad news is my legs, particularly my calves at the moment, are bloody sore. Hate too think what they will feel like tomorrow. Ah well it was for a good cause.

    Thanks again for your generosity.
