I don't do track days but had to look at the price when Kev mentioned it. It doesn't seem too steep. No one seems to baulk at £500 for a days open pit lane at the 'ring...so half that price on a UK track

It's not that bad. The last few times I've done Dony I've paid £100 less. Apart from racing, were I paid a hell of a lot more...

See where Kev is coming from, still happy to pay my monies and do it.

Oulton is the same. Supply and demand. Circuits are busy so charge tdo's a premium which they obviously pass on.

Where would I sooner go? Every other UK track that Iíve been too. Maybe with the exception of Brands Indy, which dulls after 50 laps (lunchtime), but that is on my door step.

Admittedly Iíve not been their for years and only in my Caterham. The corners seemed neither hold your breath brave, nor technical. Just Ďmehí. The track facilities were Ďmehí. And Craner was easy flat in my Caterham (until a Clio dropped oil on the line), so that was also Ďmehí.

At that money, they can **** off. Thatís Prosecco money for some plonk out of a carton.

A cheaper NL day there, Iíd swallow it for the camaraderie. Who knows, I might be wrong about the place. But the chance of getting me there at top money is zero. Just donít like the place.

You were obviously too slow out of redgate.... :)

I never get bored of donington - the whole section from reigate through to coppice is just brilliant when it all comes together.

I haven't done a track day since spa in April...getting excited now!

    Maybe!

Track days are pretty precious to me. I donít have much spare time, Iím OK for cash but like to spend it wisely, and if Iím going to just scrape 2 or 3 a year, they have to be stellar and I donít see Donny serving that up.

But thatís fine, I just donít spend my cash there. If other people love the place, then go have fun!

I assume youíre flat from the exit of the first down to the bottom of the hill?

    Try that if not

Then try and get the highest vmin into the right hand corner at the bottom of the curves

Thatíll increase the brave factor. Then see how much you can maximise speed at the back of the circuit.

    Donnie is fast and risky

The cost argument is nonsense. The cost of a track day is negligible compared to the cost of tyres, fuel, stuff breaking etc

If the difference of £100 is the difference between doing and not doing a track day, youíre in no financial position to do them at all!
