    Rallying, 2wd, n/a cars like the 150k mk2 Escorts

Rather than continue clogging Gary K's Carlow mk2 challenge thread, I thought maybe we could start a new one as there seems interest in these mental "class 14" type tarmac rally cars.
    "
The best class 14 "modified" cars, like Reids Escort and Gallaghers Darrian are up to a reliable 370bhp with a wide spread of torque. 35-40 bhp over a Millington and according to a mate that has one, it pulls from 2000 rpm. Cheaper than a Millington too...."

I have some pictures of that engine, it's a Kevin Gallagher "KGP" built and tuned engine, based on a Smith and Jones Copy of a Cosworth "205" block, but in aluminium. 2.5 litre. Revs to about 9k. Custom cnc inlet mani and Simpson exhaust mani. And its a showpiece.

Ive a few videos of it here in action from the Knockalla stage. Both Reids and Gallaghers, the speed they carry compared to others in same section is so noticeable.

Kevin was showing me the engine at Autosport this year. It looked very well put together, and seems to have the performance too.

I have some in car of Kevin somewhere, probably on our FB page.

We run an XE 2500 with 8 injectors, which I think is unique. It has around 330/340 bhp and plenty of torque. It is significantly cheaper than a millington. Plus talking to the likes of Frank Kelly who has had a fair few issues with Milly's over the last couple of years it's good to have something different.

Absolutely. That's an impressive Redtop, Gary.

Still has the inherent design weakness of not much belt wrap on the intake cam sprocket though.
