    Unhappy Zandvoort November Cancelled.............

So as you may be aware since booking the Zandvoort Circuit a few months ago it has now been awarded a round of the Formula 1 championship in 2020. I received a email tonight saying Unfortunately this now means closing the circuit in November for several months while they bring the safety of the circuit and other things they need to do up to F1 standard in time for 2020 & my track day is now cancelled.

Sadly nothing that the TDO can do about this as beyond his control.

The TDO has gone above and beyond in the back ground and placed a agreement with Spa to buy one of there track day dates (11th November the same day Zandvoort was) and so has offered to move me to Spa instead. Other hand I can have a full refund for the day.

Issue I have is the ferry is booked and paid for no refunds nearly £300 as I booked Hull - Rotterdam as it was only 40 minutes from Zandvoort so simple and we where going to go to Amsterdam for a few days. Hotel can cancel no charge which I am glad of but 2 / 3 things worry me.

    Cons
    1. The weather in November at Spa - Snow mainly but i guess this can happen any time of year
    2. I am in a bloody Swift. I will be the most under powered thing on track and frankly may get bored.
    3. I have no idea on where to stay or where to we can go over the 4/5 days we have booked away over this time with the Mrs as we where making a long weekend of it thus the ferry booking I now cant cancel.

    Pros
    1. I have ALWAYS wanted to do Spa
    2. Depending on a sale of house I may have my new car by then so Swift wont be a issue as I will have some power under my foot.
    3. A chap has shown some interest in my buying ferry crossing from me.

    What are your thoughts?

If you've never done it, Do Spa . If it rains then your lack of power won't be as big of a deal.

Stace has raced the C1's there they are far more underpowered than your Swift, drop him a message but I'm sure he'll agree and tell you to do it

I`m staying at a guesthouse when I'm there in October, I will ping you the details if you want.

Do Spa, its a great track!
    I had fun there in a 170bhp Golf mk3.
    Some great sections for handling.

Stay at the Radison in town as a fall back back option

It can rain any time of year there, just makes it more fun lol

If you can blat round 3 sisters in the rain and go well, you'll be flat everywhere at Spa, there's enough run off to land a jumbo jet

That said, with a car you might be best off on the outskirts and travelling in...

    Also Bruges is wonderful.

Spa seems to be fine its the issue of accommodation, what to do in the area and over the weekend before it seems. Jesus places are not cheap compared to Holland

See you there Iíll be there in my Golf assuming all goes well at Bilster Berg on the Saturday.

Suspect there will be a few Meganes and at least one MegClio and an ex Britcar Seat Leon Cupra in the party I am going to be over with.

You'll love Bilster Berg, it's epic.
Simon no longer owes me anything, Dave does though.
Floyd probably owes me at least twenty with the interest rolling up...

I wanted to do both but as I booked zandvoort and he took ages putting blister berg up (think it was a month or so from memory) I'd already booked my ferry and couldnt move it Spa will be fun looking forward to it

To be fair I knew about the Bilster Berg date before it was on the website so could plan travel and booked myself a flexible ferry crossing so had he ability to change it if all went a bit wrong.

To be fair you aren't that far from the ring either.

Last time I did Spa I stayed in Nurburg simply for the better food and atmosphere.

True but being November and the ring closed I doubt much will be going on, plus bit worried if it snows on Ad08r's

Fair play, I cannot argue with either of those things
