Gearing looks like itís hard to calculate- it reached terminal velocity waY before SX but then 15mph down up DH.

Impressive though, and I guess only the start of things to come.....

Meh, for a couple of reasons:

    a) I don't care about electric cars, they're a stop-gap at best and an evolutionary dead end at worst. This goes double for electric racing cars/prototypes.
    b) The 919 lap has ruined all other 'Ring laps for me. If you're bringing a hypercar of any sort and it can't go sub-6, go home. GO HOME.

Really? I think they're brilliant, at least the road cars are (agreed, you can keep Formula E, for now).

I'm fascinated to see if development can enable them to manage their energy better for proper circuit driving and racing.

    What's beyond the "stop-gap"?

I was desperate to see a proper, and expected to be desperately disappointed.

I was. Great engineering, but I couldn't sit through the whole video, the sound was awful.

    Same here.

The corner speed and acceleration is phenomenal, but the noise.

It`s bad when the creator has to overlay music to try and mask the drone of the motors.

That was exactly my first reaction. With regards to the actual time I'll assume that it's sub-6 if they could eek out an extra 20kph at the top end instead of the motors just refusing to spin faster.

I believe that was also the reason the 919 Evo couldn't go any faster down the DH - the motor on the front axle couldn't handle more than 230mph.
