Zee Germanz and TUV / UK cars

Some of you might be aware of social media thing at the moment where a load of stanced cars have been impounded on their way to Worthersee. Any thoughts? Having seen the cars, I am more of the mindset they were asking for trouble, but then I think that most of my Skoda is likely not TUV approved either

I laughed, then I felt bad for laughing, then I felt sad for the hate the German police are attracting for essentially doing their jobs and making German roads some of the safest in the world.

I saw that too. The cars did not seem legal even in this country.

I also saw that VOSA were doing a check at a UK track. Not sure if they were looking at track cars or more likely tow vehicles and trucks.

I'm not sure what shocks me more, the fact someone is surprised they've been tugged for massive tyre stretch, or the fact they have a crowdfunding page that people are donating to...

These abortions should already have been crushed in this country.

There's a world of difference between non-approved and unsafe.
Simon no longer owes me anything, Dave does though.
Floyd probably owes me at least twenty with the interest rolling up...

I like how surprised they are that the police thought their `mods` were unsafe

Deluded and blissfully ignorant sums them up imho.

I'd guess it was tow vehicles and trailers, I see loads that are overweight/over capacity, especially those who bought FWD transit.
But could be seeing who was using their track only mods on the road

saw somebody getting really defensive, saying the criticism was because people didn't understand the scene or how air suspension worked but the police photo's really show how terrible the cars are and really unsafe.

We should take a leaf out of ze Germans book. Construction and use regulations are not heavily policed enough in this country in my opinion.

I find this quite confusing as they show the rear of the Polo but yet it’s the front inner wheel arch they show (aircon pipes).
They also show the exhaust just hanging there but that’s of something with leaf springs (Caddy van ?). All very confusing.
As for towing vehicles I see them getting pulled regularly on the M6/M74 inspection areas & then obviously being condemned. I believe the term is ‘if it’s on, it’s gone’

I see the other references to Hitler on social media but fair play to the Koln Police waiting for them to come into their area, a bit like their ‘nightfighters’ .

That cambered wheel looks bad enough to get jailed for.

So the VOSA team were setup at Snetterton which is just of the A11 and right opposite a couple of haulage yards so not only targeting the track day scene but also the haulage industry.

So Rich messaged a few of them as we where at the ring with a trailer so 30 minutes from them. Not one response which if they really where in need is a bit strange.

Anyway on shipley freight currently the green merc is trying to get home lol
