Buying a new car - 40k car tax threhold

My wife is in for a new car (m140i), and wants to keep under the 40k limit so not to get stung for a tax hike in years 2-6, which means keeping under the 40k list price limit. However, so far as I can work out, that 40k limit is excluding deliver, number plates and the first year tax.

I can work out the first year tax (530), but the on the road costs I cannot find. Any insight into keeping within the limits (I can't speak to the dealer, as its outside of hours, and I'm in the middle of playing with the configuration!)

Not sure about the figures, however Tony from TRL is renowned for providing the best offers on these. Reading recently the offer that's on the table now is the last BMW will be providing while they run the cars out in advance of an update. So if you want one get in now before things change

I would definitely speak to Tony at TTL, or Joanie at TFL

In case anyone wants to refer to this in the future, for a M140 at least, the on the road price cap before the car tax increases (yr 2-6) is £40,525

Hopefully got a car sorted, fingers crossed

These donít seem to be doing very well second hand. Year old ones Iím seeing at dealers for about £24k. I paid £30k on the nose for my new one with a few boxes ticked and a service pack. FYI.
