First week of civilian employment done. Seems easy enough. The only challenge so far has been deciding what shirt to wear each day.

    What I've learnt this week:
    • Why half of the office want to work beyond their contracted hours though baffles me . Sod that. We don't get overtime and it doesn't accumulate. 7.5 hrs each day and I'm outa there.

Anyway, off to celebrate, across the road in the pub.

I had a theory itís because they are useless/stupid & itís a way of feeling good about themselves. Itís a culture.
I caught a manager smiling when telling me about a colleague who did a lot of extra hours for nowt. Then I learned they were taking advantage of his innocence.

Anyway in the campervan doing the NC500 except Iím bailing out on Tuesday. Seemingly thisíll take 2 weeks.

I generally don't do more hours than contracted, but there are times when work and urgent stuff is overwhelming and I need to put some hours in to clear it. If not I will only worry about it.

If you lot are miserable in a tent you're doing it wrong .

Just had a lovely weekend at Thistledown farm. Beer, sitting about chatting and meat.
Simon no longer owes me anything, Dave does though.
Floyd probably owes me at least twenty with the interest rolling up...

I think it was 5įC overnight, with a stiff breeze straight off the English Channel. A bit too cold for camping as far as Iím concerned. We had fun, but by Christ was it chilly.

I can confirm it is unseasonably chilly still at the moment, as night after night in a static caravan with the thermal weight of a feather and the insulation value of an open door will confirm.

There was bloody ice on the grass on one of the field margins this morning FFS, in May.
