    No news week...

I've been running a little experiment for almost a week now - I haven't been listening to, or watching the news just to see how it affects my mood. So far the results are encouraging. You watch, I'll be living in a cave soon!

The danger is that things continue to happen whilst you're not watching/looking.

Although I would strongly recommend disengaging for a day/week at a time, we're living in such tumultous times that abdicating involvement for much time means you're likely to be even more appalled when you do look to see what's happening.

DH -Guaranteed to come along & spoil it.
It’s important to know what’s going on (in the world/at home/online/at the golf club) so as not to lose touch.
I followed something Anne said & try to reduce my screen time.

I now watch tractor & train videos as a replacement.

    Iíve deleted Twatter and Instadick.

I listen to R4 to Ďcatch upí for the first 30mins of my commute(s) but then move to music of my choice.

30 minutes of old men arguing with each other.

Can't imagine much worse, although I do listen to it when I'm off on travels around the UK by car, but then yes, off to MP3-land.

Iím a bit of a news junky.

What is interesting is that when I travel I get to listen to other news services. It is great to get a different take and is a gentle reminder how local our national news is.

You should try the same approach but substitute " humans" for news.

I read Sky News a bit and watch BBC news. I can't say it affects me much and I like to keep up to date. I avoid Brexit and world ecology issues though - too depressing.
