    Off-the-wall suggestions:

    Hyundai Veloster Turbo
    Mazda3 MPS

    Add cost for lighter smaller wheels, and you'd still be in budget.

    Pushing the limit a bit:
    Nissan Juke Nismo RS

    If we’re going left field, the Kia Proceed GT (200bhp) was meant to be a good steer. Plenty of mfr warranty left too. Will sneak under £10k and has to be the lowest effort option of all.
