    2018 - 2019 Nurburgring tarmac replacement. Schwedenkreuz, Kallenhard, Ex-Muhle.

This winters resurfacing is Schwedenkreuz, Kallenhard including the left / right chicane before Miss-hit-miss and Ex-Muhle.

Photos from the Nuburgring official site and Billy`s Biker Blog

I assume they`ll remove the bump on the inside at SX and that horrible bump in the middle of spiegel-kurve.

A thin surface replacement wouldn`t last with the forces put through it over a season or 2 I guess.

If you are going to do it, do it right

I hope not. If anything they should add more bumps.

They should also run a rally on it now before any new tarmac goes down.
If the whole world was filled with just animals and David Attenborough, it would be a beautiful place. Unfortunately, it's been overrun by 7.6-billion assholes.

What will all the megane breakers do next year. They will go out of business if SX has no bump :(

    Interesting...
    Thanks for sharing that Nige.
Of those 3, I mostly hope they suitably modify Kallenhard...
It's my most hated corner on the 'Ring, a proper off-camber b@st@rd!!

Maybe they'll move the bump 200 yards further on to lull people into a false sense of security?

Also one of my least faves, but will they really alter it, one of the track's challenges, some would say.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think that there are any off camber corners.

That's why it is there. Not easy. Whereas the bump in Spiegelkurve is unplanned bollocks.

I won't dare to correct you Floyd because I may well be wrong myself...
though to me it feels off-camber, it may perhaps not be...
nonetheless i.m.o.; it's a nasty corner and needs modification / erradication...

It is a proper german rebuild job. None of this 'resurfacing' trash that we're so accustomed to in blighty

The dimensions of the track will remain the same, including the cambers. The irregularities, such as the 'bump' at Schwedenkreuz, will go.

I think we should open a book on the first big off on the newly rebuilt sections

Misha posted a good interview with the Nurburgring PR guy, he explained exactly that. If the track has subsided over time and caused a bump, that`ll go. But the camber that was there initially will remain.

So the track will be faster after this. What will be the new track record by the end of next year?
