Hopefully some 'garage time' as Nige puts it!

A run at some point. I did my first ever 5k the other week and managed a reasonable 32min 5 sec.

I'll make a start on moving my central heating boiler so I can start on the next room to be renovated.

Actually zero planned. Which is kind of nice.
Simon no longer owes me anything, Dave does though.
Floyd probably owes me at least twenty with the interest rolling up...

Usual Saturday with the kids, then collecting lots of money for MM at Autosport on Sunday.

I'd love to be there myself, but geography along with my lack of forward-planning let me down..

Perhaps a little harsh to say it's rubbish. Been probably 5 of the last 8 years and I think it's time for a break for a year or two.

Some really nice older cars there, but not as many as in the past.

Cars not prepared to the usual standard. McLaren with badly curbed wheels etc.

Also not a massive fan of the move towards the mega rich, ridiculous conversion cars. I'm sure there is a market for the Dubai in London look, but it's not my think.

A good day out, but it's been better.

Didn't see any MM stuff. Must have been hiding from me on purpose.

MM stand is being set up now. The Autosport Engineering area in hall 9 is being cleared out to be replaced with different stands for the public over the weekend. The cars for the stand are tucked away backstage at the Live Action Arena.

You did see the Invictus Jag racing car, though, right? That has 4 MM drivers signed up for British GT this year.

Was that the blue one on a stand on its own? Didn't know what it was, nor its significance.

Did have a look over the new Griffith though.

Cars in the coys auction were generally in poor condition I thought too

Great stuff Alex, good to hear (apart from the knee-troubles..).
Hope you got the chance to meet-up with Peden N. there for a spot of his idiosyncratic banter...

I'm with Gary on the Autosport thing.
We went Thursday to avoid him obviously!
Its the same stuff all in the same places, needs to be once every 2-3 years really. Watched Jim do a very emotional and uplifting piece on Billy Monger.

I believe the legalities are regarding the connection/disconnection of the gas.
Youtube clearly shows how to do this

Re the whole Autosport debate- I loved the Thursday for the whole WRC launch & this occupied me from my arrival at 9:30 (by train-bliss) to 13:30, lunch and then the live action arena (disappointing except for the NASCAR interviews).

Was good to see Billy Monger & was quite emotional to see him walk between cars on prosthetics.

I then wandered around & chatted to various race championships, picked up a cake & a smile from the d2bd stand & chatted about a bespoke flywheel for a Duratec install.

Next thing I knew it was time to leave & train back to Carlisle.

If it wasn't for the Wrc launch then it would be different but I just find it a pleasant day to wander around on & chat with various traders. I always see opportunities & try to spot trends.

I'm of no doubt now that my exploration of Duratecs is worthwhile.

I guess I'm going there with the right attitude.

Dropped Lauren off at Heathrow at lunchtime then ordered a watch. Now sat in my pants watching Game of Thrones.

Bike ride in the morning. Out for lunch. Resume watching GoT in my pants in the evening.
If I could have all the money back I have wasted on cars, I would waste it on a car.

Important to remember that Autosport is a trade show, certainly so on Thursday and Friday.

I really enjoyed my day there, great to see some familiar faces as well as talk shop with a number of vendors.

I do the odd trade show with work, they're hard work, you'd think standing would be easy, not the case. It's a dream of mine to be a part of Autosport on my own stand one day, seems daft, but it is.

    Yep.

There are many who go as trade on a Thursday and Friday, who probably have no real business being there. If my credentials were checked, I'd have a hard time coming up with a business card or whatever proving who I was, but for me I'm glad they let riff-raff in on those days, because the engineering section is a big part of the shows appeal.

I pretend at the moment, but feel I gain more from going than those who are there just to look at the cars/women.

I found with the 135i it was faster with it off. Even if the light isnt flashing it still didnt seem to give you the full beans compared to the butt dyno when you had it off.

but in fairness, he gives really good exposure to all of his sponsors.

Myself and my best mate meet-up with him every few weeks (in the 'out-of-the-way' facility where he keeps the Drift-car), usually at around 8pm of a weekday evening. We start talking cars and whatnot and, before we know it, it's nearly midnight and time to go home to bed...

Looking forward to seeing his latest S13 project when it's completed!

I get on with him well. I suspect, if I joined these socials, I'd be rolling in very late, as we'd just be talking and talking.

I saw Danielle setting up on her own, and was going to offer to help, but then we had a bit of a disaster as they hadn't provided the keys to our display cabinet, so I was running around sorting that.
