    battery Charger / Conditioners

If anyone is after one, Lidl have theirs back in stock this week at the princely sum of £14.

    Apparently they're quite good.
Simon no longer owes me anything, Dave does though.
Floyd probably owes me at least twenty with the interest rolling up...

Saw these the other day - already have one of the £14 ones so got one of those which have jump pack incorporated (£40), but I have yet to need it. My trickle charger gets used far more than it should

The Lidl ones are quite good, the only thing with them is they donít remember the setting the were on if you disconnect the power.

So if you want to leave them connected to the car and put the mains on a time switch they are no good.

I do like the Ctek ones but they come at a price, Iíve got a Ctek I keep at home plus two larger Cteks where I keep my cars and also one of the Lidl ones, they all have their advantages and disadvantages.

The setting thing is true. Most of the time, I'm taking the battery out the vehicle and trickle charging on the kitchen worktop

I bought one of their power bank/jump packs. Still to use it in anger.

:) funnily enough the kitchen area where I keep my cars has a portion of the kitchen work surface reserved as a battery charging areas

I bought one of these on Sat, itís currently hooked up to the large (95Ah) starter battery on my Caravelle. Will report back on how I get on but seems very useful and convenient so far compared to the old charger I usually use.

Cheers, Kev. I have a BMW ornament in my garage that this charger is destined for once it's finished on the Caravelle's two whopper batteries so similar scenario.

Quick update to say the Lidl charger has been on for 2 weeks, and on four different batteries / vehicles so far. No issues, seems to do the job.

As expected, it's now ended up on my BMW ornament

Another thing I've been told from a guy that build a lot of classic jag race cars is to put it on a timer and get it to come on for 2 hours a day.

seems to be working since replacing my battery in November.

Just killed mine yesterday after about 3 years, cheap enough so i'll buy another,
All I did was plug it in with the terminals connected to a battery so next time i'll wait & plug it in 1st.

You can't do that with the Lidl ones, as you need to reset the charger to start when switched on.

    Obviously other chargers are available.
