DN to me appears as a great proposition with good prices (albeit making that Circuit Days April event look positively bargain basement). But Ringmeisters? Why so mucho dollar? It’s £700 more than a DN double header

Is it vetted so only extremely experienced drivers attend?

    Valid question.

Ringmeisters is for customers who originally asked to pay more for fewer cars booked onto the event.

I wasn’t sure about it but actually it worked really well. The guys all supported the format and even those who weren’t sure were persuaded once they’d been on one.

There’s a whole raft of subtle changes that combine to make for a very different overall experience - albeit at a price.

Personally, I’m happy as the Ringmeisters event retains its margin with massively reduced admin, stress and ultimately - risk.

DN’s have always represented value in terms of track time and the team have proved time and time again we set the standard others attempt to emulate!

2018 will be another year of pushing boundaries and putting distance between us and and other TDOs but I won’t compete on price alone. I know how many cars work on an event and how many doesn’t. I also know how many cars different TDOs have to book to break even, cheaper price means more cars (or big loss).

It’s easy to be cheap, it takes work to be great

I chose to wait until Daren answered, because it is his gig after all

120 cars max during the whole event

If you do TF you'll find 120 cars on track within a couple of minutes

    Its not the same

If you are Risk Averse like me then you want the safest environment possible

That is what Darren creates for us

    Thanks Paul

I know the Ringmeisters isn’t for everyone but those that want it, support it and I can’t ask for more than that.

    Can I request a pax-lap with you @ D.N.20. Nige?
Last time I was in the pinderwagen (in 2010 i.i.r.c.), it was pre-turbo and pre-aero mods...
I'd very much enjoy experiencing it in it's current form, and sitting in with you which has always been a pleasure.

I always have a long list but can never find people in the carpark when I'm looking

    It certainly should be different

    You should sell tickets, Nige.
If the whole world was filled with just animals and David Attenborough, it would be a beautiful place. Unfortunately, it's been overrun by 7.6-billion assholes.

You don't just have to be Risk averse.
Financially its bonkers, especially if you buy a load of laps and then the track is shut all weekend. And the queueing/car shenanigans have just made it boring!

Trying to make a weekends lapping on TF is a total waste of time now IMHO.

If I'm there (for DN/CD Trackdays) and the weather is good and track clear then maybe I'll do a couple of TF laps if I feel like it, otherwise, as I said, ....really cannot see the point anymore.

Don't think I did any last year, thanks to the Trackdays.

TF laps are few and far between for me these days, so I always ensure that I’m timing whilst capturing it for video.

Last time Darren chucked in free food/drink at the Diner on the ringmeisters event. Assuming the same is true for 2018, just make sure you eat/drink £700 worth or more and you're quids in :D :D

Neil and I booked for August and September.

I'm just stunned, after all the ####, you seem to have missed off #scuderiawickes

I keep saying I'll take the MINI but I tend to do long weekend stuff over summer because of work commitments.

Any danger of Matt getting an outing there in the E36 this year, btw?

We`d hoped to, but it`s looking very unlikely and we`ll probably just be taking the Golf.

I think we did about €7k in ice-cream alone on last year's event.

Same again for Ringmeisters this year?

Give everyone a card with a generous, but dont-take-the-piss balance on it

Only issue with this is that some people may see it as a 'must spend every last penny' target. Unless you allow them to take it forward to future trips...

In the usual "well before the event, but ring fever bites hard" I think I've bought a new car for this. At least, I told a guy how much I'd pay and what I wanted chucked in and he agreed, so I think he's got me there.

And yes, it is of course......

    Booked on DN20,

7 months should be plenty of time to get the old E30 ready, shouldn't it?

Well, yes. But there's still a chance I'll be frantically spannering Wednesday night

I have booked DN20 as well so looking forward to this. It has been a few years since I have driven it so looking forward to getting back out. It will be good to meet a few of you as well.
