Trip to Germany in June - to raise a glass to Bren

It's looking probable that we will take a trip over to raise a glass to Bren shortly.

We are looking at the weekend of Friday 16th to Sunday 18th June.

Nige is going to fly and rent a car. Darren, Simon and I are going to drive over. Jim is TBA. Nothing is booked yet, so it's just a matter of who wants to join us and sorting the logistics out. How many cars, who with who, hotels etc etc.

Any of you lot around and care to join us?

As said, Lou and I will probably be flying out Saturday morning, hiring a car to drive to the ring. Stay Saturday night then fly back Sunday afternoon.

I'd have loved to but very much doubt I can fit it in and avoid a divorceI. I'll raise a glass from wherever we are.

I'd really love that but new baby deem it unlikely.

Please raise a glass for Helen and me.

    We'll be there.
Probably fly out Friday, back Sunday.

Is this a definite date now?
Are we arranging hotels ourselves or have you spoken to anyone Gary?

I've done nothing other than work out that the date works for most of the mod team and book it in with SWMBO.... And speak to Rob, who would like to come too and is currently trawling the web for something with a V8 to bring along.

Sadly, we'll be on holiday that weekend.

It'll be a good send off for Bren I'm sure and a rare get together in Germany for the NL crowd. Gutted we won't be there.

As much as I would love to pop over with you all next month I can't.

That said, we'll be staying nearby as a family in July. We will make sure we call into the CC during our short stay to raise a glass with Karl et al.

    Man

When I lived in Luxembourg we would at least go to Trier across the border in Germany to rent cars as they are at least half the price and someone would actually be there in the rental shop to give you the keys. Things must of changed.

I cannot be there but will be in spirit and have a beer in his memory,

    Lamp post kicking.

    An awesome, bizarrely German game:

Walking down the high street from the comfy corner with Sonja and the NL hardcore....

Man leaning from window at 2am:

In German accent "Hey, stop making so much noise"

Sonja replies in German "we are kicking out the lamp posts"

Man "oh ok then, good luck"

Clearly this is a normal evening in Adenau.

Incidentally- as it happens only Sonja has the lamp post kicking skill.

Was a great night & a fitting tribute to Bren I thought. Lovely seeing so many people & we certainly had a drink or 2

At Eurotunnel now, came back via the B258 & the bumpy road.
