    Here are his other installments:

They look like a couple of entertaining bell-ends. Good blokes in other words.

    lol at Tim.

Really enjoyed this over breakfast. All 4 including the question and answer session.

Like how they are keeping it as a std looking front end etc mini.

    Anyway some interesting stats.
    wheelbase/track
    DS3 Wrc 1.53
    Impreza 1.72
    Sierra 1.79
    mini 1.5
    mini/gt4 conv 1.34

It'll be interesting to see how it handles as at 1.34 ratio it is probably a bit too 'short'. There is a bit science to the wheelbase/width ratio.

Oh and if anyone is interested my imp will be 1.7 ratio. Hopefully making it stable at high speed. (if I ever finish it....)

Absolutely brilliant. Would love to learn some of those skills over time, very well thought out and executed so far.

This is very very good, it is hard enough doing what they're doing but to make an entertaining video all the way through is fantastic. When I'm doing a tiny job on my car and think I'll take photos for a step by step guide I usually can't be bothered or forget as I'm too busy doing it!

That's great - entertaining and very interesting. I enjoy watching fabrication and grass roots engineering work. Loved the CAD - "Cardboard Aided Design" approach, although I'm sure there's far more to it than that

Can't find out where they are based from their web site. Odd.

Awesome fabrication, but.... it won't look right in the end.

These conversions always look odd because of the dainty little mini silhouette (and the need to run 15 inch wheels at minimum).

Decided to start watching this last night, and by this morning I'd watched the lot. This is what reality TV should actually be. No drama, no hype, just proper skill. Love it

Can't wait for the one where they take it for the IVA and get their Q-plate for it.

If it maintains the same shape, why will it need to be a Q plate? Short of some cooling vents, the plan for this is to be original silhouette is it not?

Is this project despite needing plenty of Fab not the same as dropping a 1380 engine in and changing the suspension?

Only in the UK does a f*cking letter on a plate matter.
If you really care though, Q is for quick. Q is also for 'Quattro'...

You're not familiar with IVA then?

    https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registrat...tered-vehicles

So technically anything that has had the engine firewall altered should go for IVA and will get a Q plate.

    Don't shoot the messenger....

Oh I couldn't give a toss about Q-plates - actually they should now be a trophy on anything that's been significantly modified and is legit. Unfortunately they're seen by some as a 'tag of shame' due to 'istoric reasons.

That struck me as odd, it would have been far easier to have started with a cage, or even a spaceframe. So much material removed from the replacement floor, too, would have been better to scratch-build one.

    Otherwise, awesome

Yes much easier I bet! I think it misses the point of why this is so impressive; to build a a pretty big conversion within the confines of the original Mini and preserving all the panels external and internal where possible. I think it would have been a 1/10th of this job to build a space frame and plonk a shell on it. In fact just some of their jigs are worthy of being called a spaceframe!

Thanks Daz. As enjoyable and informative as ever! Can't wait for the next one. Even Wor Lass enjoyed it. She reckons they should get a mainstream TV show.
