The 'Tell us about something seemingly unimportant that you liked today' thread

As an antidote to King Prawn's moan like a old person about everything thread

I present the 'Tell us about something seemingly unimportant that you liked today' thread.

Anything you like. Even the smallest, seemingly unimportant detail of today's events that made you think 'that's good'. Maybe something that has changed and you no longer have to go on a Kingprawn rant about ?

I'll start with the new design, no-mess top on my squeezy Heinz tomato sauce bottle. It works, still clean as a whistle a week after opening it

I liked that the drive into and out of work today wasn't through torrential rain or gusty side winds for the first time about three weeks. Just made a pleasant change.

Taking my MTB wheel into the local bike shop to have a spoke replaced and the wheel re-trimmed. Then, picking it up a few hours later, repaired i asked how much did I owe him?

    No charge.

    Happy with that

Just found out the mathematical part of my economics exam next week is unbelievably easy. One of the questions in a past paper was "calculate the mean". Right now with all the exam stress that is about as good as life can get

50% more pages per second with 2 lines of code.

This may mean nothing to most of you, but it may just save a lot of late nights and finger pointing....

My local bike shop is like that. Guy spent 0.5hrs sorting gears out and fitting a new link to the chain after saying he was really busy and had no time then charged me £1.

£1?! I felt the need to buy some GT85 (I now have 5 cans!) as some sort of thanks.

A customer who asked me to quote for some all weather pitch maintenance, then showed me the quotes he'd had in so far, with all the figures on them. I was going to charge him just over half of what he'd been quoted. This may change

Yesterday evening I got into the hotel lift in my gym kit - vest t-shirt and boardies next to a bride all glammed up going to some part of her wedding. Lucky for her I was going to the gym and not coming back sweating/stinking. I couldn't help but smile at the contrast.

Very wet roundabouts on your way to work make your wheezy smoker feel much more powerful. Dab of oppo for the oversteer in a 65bhp Clio brings a smile to your face as you pretend you're in an Escort Mexico

    Pension review team briefing today.

Good news if I get out at my 22 yr point in 2 years time. Waiting on pros & cons of hanging on a little longer post Apr 15.

Either way. Confirmed that our pensions will remain contribution free. Under this government anyway.

I didn't actually do anything significant to earn it. To be honest, it just means more expense to get the fecker mounted. This is No 9 to my collection.
