Easter weekend traditionally meant the Circuit of Ireland, this weekend marks the 50th anniversary of the Escort's first ever international victory.

We lost a legend from the co driving world these last few days, Jim Porter.

Many people associate Tony Mason with Roger Clark, but the truth is Jim Porter was Clark's regular co driver, together they won the British Rally Championship 4 times, but Porter wasn't alongside Clark on either of his famous RAC Rally wins in 1972 & 1976, the reason for this, was that Porter was part of the organising team for the RAC Rally.

Bill was a fine rally driver, he won the Motoring News Road Rally Championship in 1977 & 1978, one of only 2 drivers to win back to back titles

Out of interest try getting one of these now.
Thereís a resurgence in classic stock rod where I think a lot of the basket cases are going.
Of course soon Iíll sell my existing two door for little money & the rotten project to replace it will be cost prohibitive.

I thought I had done the hard work having picked up a YB.
    Cíest la vie I guess.
