Hello again. Not been active on here for a while, but had a Golf GTI Edition 30 a few years ago and now have........

Another Golf! This time though it is driven through all the wheels and in the form of a MKVI Golf R.

Hope to catch up and see what is new on here as well as see what events are running this year as I plan to visit the Ring again.

Quick pic of the new filly...currently running around 400bhp, but weighs almost as much as the Forth Bridge! LOL....

Hi. Heading to the ring this weekend

Hi there, came across this site whilst looking up info on the nurburgring so thought i'd say hi!

It's been a long ambition of mine to drive the ring, so thought i'd better go and do it!

Heading over this friday - monday for my 30th.

My weapon of choice is a 3.0 Z4, just hoping for some good weather and a nice clean few laps!

New Member, Visiting the 'ring in August

    Hello All,

I've appreciated the ring from a distance for as long as I can remember and now that my wife and I are spending 2 weeks in Europe this summer I'll finally have an opportunity to drive it. I've been practicing (GT5 and other games) and studying so I don't waste my 4 lap rental on a Monday afternoon, but if there are any particular resources or guides I shouldn't miss I'd love to hear about them.

Thanks to you all and I'm looking forward to following every post and learning from your experiences.

    Kevin

Hi Kevin....there's a link to a PDF of a BMW guide somewhere on here, well worth studying......especially if you decide to upgrade your rental to an M3

Here lies the body of Mary Lee, died at the age of a hundred and three. For fifteen years she kept her virginity, not a bad record for this vicinity.

  18. #2868
Thanks for the link. Definitely looks like a good read. I would love to do my laps in an M3 but the budget's not going to support it this trip. I'll have to come back for a real trackday sometime in the future and drive something more substantial. This time it's mostly about getting to experience the ring and prove to my wife that it can be survived.

    Hi all,

New to the group so first post to say hello. I'm currently driving a Valencia Orange 1M which is proving to be great fun having previously had a 135 and a S3. The 1M is pretty much as it came and I'll post some pictures when a get a chance.

I've done a few track days over the last few years in the UK at both Bedford and Brands which is just down the road from me. Next stop is the ring at some stage and may-be a few others in Europe when I get some time.

Looking forward to reading all about everyone's experiences.

Hi, total n00b from Hampshire - well, ex-total-n00b now, first time at the Nordschleife on April 25th:

That's me in an R4R Swift S2, and that's Andy C instructing me. Later that day, we took my car round (997.1 Turbo), me driving it for two laps, the first a measley 11h05s and the second too slow to time on account of a GT3 coming off ahead of me, and then Andy driving it for two more, much faster laps).

It was a brilliant first trip. The weather was great, the hotel was great (Wilhelmshöhe in Auderath), and getting Andy as instructor was a big plus ... he has a talent for instructing as well as driving, a rare combination.

Next trip is in August. Yay!!

(she gets to stay at home).

Hello! Names Jason and I'm in Wokingham, Berkshire

Can't believe I've finally found a forum full of awesome track weapons. Looking forward to being part of it, meeting some new faces and making new friends. I don't know anyone else that does track days so it gets a bit boring for me sometimes going alone

I've also never been to the nurgburgring so hopefully that will change in the near future

My choice of weapon is a old family hack mondeo st220 set up on coilovers etc

Always kept moted so I'd happily tax and insure it for a special nurburgring trip. Otherwise it gets trailered to track days usually

picture of earlier this year, recently fitted a bucket seat and a few other changes, just needs a custom cage now to finish it. Will put some updated pics in the project gallery section

    Welcome!

Have you thought about chopping the Mondeo in for:

    An E46 M3
    A 996 911
    A Peugeot 405 Mi16?

Or maybe even a Volvo 240 estate?

If not - you'll soon come round to one of those.

    Welcome to Northloop.

    Hi!

I'm new here! I'm Rob, originally from Leyland but have lived in Cologne for the last 4 years. In those 4 years I have only done one lap of the 'ring :( Shame on me! But I will be sorting that out soon!

    Hello!

New member here. - I'm Luke.

Have been to the ring for the last 5 years now.

    Most years i've been in a 350z.

This year was the first year unfortunately I got my bongard membership.

Supercharged 350z decided to blow its engine - splitting a fuel line which ignited the whole car.

Worst part was - arrived on Wednesday - went out for evening laps and car was beautiful - really getting into it - clear track etc - Then on the Thursday morning - let my mate go out for a lap and he blew it!!

Unsure if ill be back in 2016 - or will do some UK tracks and get a new car sorted for 2017.

Ill Get some pictures up as soon as possible!

    Hi All,

Just joined the forum, I'm based just outside of Reading. I've visited the ring previously in my old 197 and have booked onto DN17 this year, really looking forward to taking the new toy which is a Clio 200 Cup Pack being converted to an out and out track car. Lots to get done before May.

Here's a couple of old and new.
