    M3 is farkin great ;D

    Top notch weekend - splendid weather, food, beer, company and car related activities.

    Stopped at Spa on the way in for a perv;

    Rocked up at the Lindenhof for pie and beer;

    Sat - Si and co went off to inspect the aircraft hangar he is thinking of using. I took Bec out and about for a guided tour of the locale. Track was being used so there was stuff to see at the various viewing points. Also there was some early morning mist in the valleys;

    After lunch it opened for us tourists and so we got on. Once the first lap was done I calmed down a lot ;) The M3 is very good to drive. Better than the MK1, MK1 suspension doesn't inspire much confidence at all where as the M3 is a lot more compliant, MK1 feels like it will spit me out if I let it.
    Laps started to come together as knowledge grew. Bits that I previously knew as discrete sections started to come together as bigger sections. At some points I even had tire squeal and over took a couple of cars ;)

    Sun was more the same, Bec was out with the others too, she got a ride in George's 500bhp F&F Supra and proceeded to giggle all the way round :D

    She did more laps than me ;D

    While we were waiting for one of the closures a dead volvo was dragged off.

    They were staying in our digs, the 2 fellas escaped with just the odd scratch :o They had borrowed a T5 from someone back home, never having been round before, they were flat out through Flugplatz ::) and lost it - the car went end over end...

    Mon we packed up and cruised home stopping in Calais for booze and fireworks ;)

    and from the missus;

    Mother: so you're going away to germany with a bunch of guys to go around a racetrack?

    Bec: YUP!! I can't wait!! :D

    --------------------------

    I've been excited about this for months. Dave had shown me pics and video from earlier trips and said I could tag along the next time he went. Wow!! Not something your typical chick would get excited about but fast cars always get me excited!

    I wasn't really sure what to expect (only fast cars, beer and pork!). And I don't think I fully appreciated what was going on until my first lap around the ring with Dave in his beastly M3. What a dream this "one-way public access toll road" was! Who wouldn't want to travel here to fully test their skills and car (or – even better – be a passenger!!) (I was also secretly wishing I had my car to go hooning around in!)

    Now I understood what all the hype was about, I had the speed bug. I wanted more!!

    "I'll take her for a lap" said Sim.

    I hadn't met Sim until this trip. I was informed that Sim was the one to be with in a car on the ring. Not only did he have a kick-ass 318 which he left out near the ring, he had been around the ring more times than a second hand on a clock! The laps with Sim was great! I think he was a little scared that I might throw up after having 3 hot chocolates before jumping in the car with him but I think my consistent giggling made him relax! I could do this all day!!

    The next day I did a couple of more laps with Dave, I could tell he was a lot more relaxed and a bit more confident (a few tyre squeals told me that ;) ) The roar of the motor was exhilarating! Zoom zoom!!!

    I also got to go on a lap with Welly in the 318 (feeling like a bit of a 'car/passenger slut' but who cares!) That was a brilliant lap and a half! He certainly knows how to handle the track too!

    My last laps were in the green machine with one of the coolest (and probably oldest) dudes on the track. The laps with him were truly something special. Over 160mph!! CRAZY!! I couldn't stop laughing the whole time!! What also made me crack up was the crazy mini cooper which was in front of us during the end of the lap….it was on two wheels, then air-born, thrown around all over the place. Hectic but absolutely hilarious! Thanks so much George!

    To sum up –a 2 day rollercoaster ride! I had an excellent time! Thanks everyone for the laps and the giggles! :D
