After finding Oil leaking onto the manifold and burning off Friday, I went to BMW for a Rocker gasket. Changed it over friday night, Only to notice that two of the rocker bolts had been threaded by a previous owner  As the old gasket looked good, I'm guessing there were at fault, I tightened em as far as they would go, after replacing the gasket and spark plug rings anyway for piece of mind. Topped off the oil and we were ready to go.

Was meeting Chris172cup at the border from belgium to holland, But he missed it, and the exit he took off the motorway didn't have a re entry point. i took me 20 mins to locate him, and we were off. A brief stop for Fuel just before germany, into a petrol station filled with BMW's and a Ginetta, all ring bound.

yes yes, I'm getting coilovers

We arrived in Adenau about 2pm, checked in with the lovely Michaela and headed up to the ski lodge for a quick go on the slopes, sorry karls house. Karl was waiting with his daft dog, and we set off and walked upto Weirschiefen to watch a Bit of the VLN. he then led us on his secret route through the woods, upto metzgefeld. From there we walked back down to WS, and back down to karls.

The view from the top of the ski lift, sorry MHM to Karls house.

Some VLN action

Karl called the office on the way down, to get some info on the Tf opening, both the offical and non offical opinion, we decided to go with the Non offical, as the Tf was allready 1 and a half hours late due to Sabines porsche having an Incident and setting on fire at the karussel.

Quick shower and change and we met Karl and Jorg in the CC.

Note clutter getting in the way of magnificent e30

http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v233/134/88/561665491/n561665491_2765712_1241.jpg

Jon arrived shortly after with my new chip to up the HP. This was fitted quickly and re fitted to the car (outside the CC) with an ITG panel filter. IT RAN!!!!!! Amen back inside for beer.

Guessing the car as STD has 136 hp, plus its rediculous over fueling and richness (it used almost 3/4's of a tank to get to Adenau, 200 kms :o ) I proposed the new filter plus the chip, would give the car 200 hp no problems.

Drank more beer, Das Chin, Mav and Matti arrived, and I told them how my car had 230 hp with the new chip. Called Nick a "lucky c**t" for picking up bargain of the decade after having a look at the Golf.

Went to the pizza shop, and Mr Gill sent a text and came down for some food with Cpufreak, fresh from drifting at papenburg, and parking his car like my girlfriend in the airport  Informed Gill my car had 260 BHP.

Nick entertained us with tales of thumbs and rugby tours and some excellent Non PC jokes.

Most ordered the big Calzone, BMW had 290 hp at this point.

Couldn't finish pizza, but BMW had 320 hp.

Said goodbye to everyone at about 11pm, by which time the bmw had a conservative 400 and something HP.

As we approached the bar there seemed to be a group of mad smurfs sat outside the BE all wrapped in blue blankets, looking a bit Cold " your weeman" papa smurf said, " i am thats correct" Papa smurf was infact the perveyor of bad weather himself JF Cole, and his group of comedy drunken irishmen. Had a good laugh at em all, and laughed even harder when one of them accidently knocked a large vase type thing over, smashing into lots of little bits. Ahh the comedy.

Said Hi to Dale, Michaela ,Dave and Ed in the BE bar

went to bed. BMW had 500 BHP

Up early for brekkie, BMW Had accquired almost 700 hp overnight. Met Juan briefly and had a chat with the owner of Sir Oakies old caterham, which was like running into the wife of an friend whos dating someone else  and at the track at 8, to find Mr Cole had indeed, dragged the big black cloud over and it was wet. Popped out for a "sighter", track started slowly to dry, and managed to get one in on half a drying track. Despite leaving later, I managed to catch up Jon in his mini cab, tiptoeing round on his ditch finder fancy tyres.

Plenty of incidents, But only one closure early on, for a bmw, that decided to save on tyres by going down the track on its roof. Das chin and stopped to help, but was told by the owner that he didn't need it so buggered off.

Went for a lap with Matti in the 306, laughed at how quick he drove it on 888's.

Met Al and the salon crew in the car park, who seemed to have conviened to pick faults in Al's car, I tried to find a few, but i couldn't really, I do love that car, even though it was designed with the help of a nursery class, with a bargain disount on highlighter pens.

Met Nick, and informed him, the bmw had lost a few HP in the morning, and was running a round 620.

Went for a lap with Loz in his 1500 quid (mint) 525, Dire straights on full blast for a singalong.

Chris's car

Highlights of the viewing were two german e30's drifting there way round, and an old Camaro iroc, or trans am type car, doing the same. Some random in an over engineered light weight roofed white BMW, decided to drift and then fish tail drift all the way between brunchen 1 and 2, Bloody show off  He could then be heard lighting up the tyres in the following corner aswell :D

Went for a lap with Jon, and followed the Red Camaro/trans am for a good while as he drifted it round every corner, gave him the thumbs up when we eventually went past.

Went back to Jons hotel, with the hope of trying to fix the BMW's silly idle problem but no luck.

Went back and met Juan and Rachel, and they gave me a special gift of some CERN playing cards, complete with information on the entire history of Cern, Fantasic :D :D :veryhappy: Thankyou very very much guys. Juan will be testing me next time I see him, to see if I've been learning properly :D

Chris went home to catch the evening train :(

Saw Stevey G, Michaela, Ed and Dave again, and said goodbye, then went home, via the CC for a last drink, with karl, matti , Jorg and Mav. Thanks Mav for having a look at the BMW. It got home fine, only using less than a quarter of a tank this time, I thinnk it needs an old priest and a young priest rather than an idle value or cold start sensor

Got home, weekend of dreams over, car still wouldn't idle and truth be told, probs has about 140 hp

Jon, Loz and Steve are still out there, I hope they get at least one dry lap.

Thanks to Everyone i met yet again, for making it a great weekend.

Nice write-up mate. Was a shame about the weather last week, but i have laps left on the ticket, so that seems a good enough excuse to go again soon.

Nice to meet a few new people on the trip, makes it all worth while!

I'm going to get it RR'd soon, its getting that idle fixed at this moment, new lambda and Idle control valve needed.

I'd be happy if it made 150 to be honest, we will see, conservative estimates of 700 hp FTW !

Yep mate the test will be hard, it will include practical questions like "how much power your bmw needs to start loosing bits" and "where/when exactly is the TVR time tunnel entry"...
