Well...
I don't really know how to start this report as every thing in this trip comes to my mind in a storm of feelings since I decided to go there. I will try to write this report showing not just lap times but my whole experience and emotions about a dream becoming true.

I aways loved cars and since I was a teenager I aways had a dream to drive a nice car in race track, those cars which I would spend my whole life working to buy one, but would never put it in a race track.

I grown up and 2 years ago I had the opportunities to leave my country (Brazil) for cultural experience and I found out that England would give me all that I aways wished and working with I love to do.

Two years later and an explosion of culture I've watched an episode of Top Gear about Nurburgring, one of the most exciting, beautiful and dangerous race track in the world. That was just after I bought my dream (Audi A4).

So I decide to make another dream become true and started to get more information...Videos, websites, and this forum which gave me what I needed, confidence.

Then I just needed to convince my wife. (not easy job) :P

03.04.2008 - We left London 4am and we get in Nurburg at 13:00pm. Then check in at Blaue Ecke (recommended in the forum) which is a really god hotel. Michaela is a lovely person.
We went around the city and about 5:30pm we decided to go to the track and do one lap just to see how it was and also memorize some corners. The track was really wet and slippery but I felt really good in there and I the first corners I was really slow and fearing to do anything wrong. Fortunately the track was almost empty and I could enjoy the whole lap without worry about another cars. Every corner that I did was making me happier and happier. Thanks to my car (and the ESP system) I've managed to do it safely in 13min 43sec.

When I finished that I was a 1.90cm 8 years old child. Smile everywhere and a feeling... "I want more".

04.04.200 - That morning was beautyful. Nice sunny day. We had a nice lunch at Zur gemütlichen Ecke which was recommended by Michaela. There we met Jörg (annekette?) which provided us a great time in there.

15:00pm - We got in the race track by the Adenau entrance (half lap) and I felt the car with much more grip which made me feel more confident to enjoy my lap.
15:15pm - I decided to do the full lap and that's the result was a lap much more exciting including few gear and corner mistakes. But faster and more exciting. 11min 10sec. (see in the video)

After that I had the opportunities to meet Nige which is a ring expert and gave me a lap full of tips in his golf. Nige thanks a lot for that mate.

After that the weather changed and started raining again which left the track very slippery. So I went for my last lap, very slow and safely using the tips which I received earlier by Nige. Such a lap, slow but enjoying even more the corners (with the white circles Lol).

Well again sorry about my poor english (I still learning it) and for this maybe too personal report.

Leo,

You seemed to be having a brilliant time :thumb:

The report is fine, we can tell you enjoyed it, a LOT

One thing for next trip though, please leave the stopwatch at home. I know thats what people ask you what you get back, but honestly, if you are driving with a stopwatch running on your early laps, you are adding to the pressure you are putting yourself under. Keep the timing until later, of course you are not supposed to time any, but I dont think there is anyone on here who hasnt timed a lap at some stage, just dont get into the habit of timing every lap, you`ll end up driving to the stopwatch rather than for the enjoyment.

Anyway, thats my moderators hat off now :P , I enjoyed taking you for a lap, just a shame it was so wet and slippery, I think you`d have been even more thrilled if it had been dry when I took you out.

Next time perhaps ;)

Sure.
I was not worried about lap time as I said to you but obviously I was really curious to know how bad was my beginner lap. My best lap was the slowest one using your tips.
Cheers.

I appreciate that Garry.
When I left nurburg heading to Brussel I had the whole report in my mind but yesterday I couldn't express myself really well.

Maybe some people will read it and think that I went there to speed my car but I was actually trying to show that this was not a lap time, but a dream becoming true. :D
