Bingo and the boys on tour.

Gary made the trip to Jasonís house to save him doing it early on Friday morning. Jason was very hospitable and plied Gary with Wine while he watched Layer Cake. Gary repaid the favour by throwing up on Jasonís stairs sometime in the middle of the night. Gary decided it was a good job Jason didnít get up to see him bollock naked with a damp cloth scrubbing his stair carpet.

Jasonís neighbour Mel was good enough to go and collect Sean at 4am. Iím not sure what kind of pull Jason has with people but it must be special to get people to do stuff like that.

Gareth collected Gary and Sean, then drove to get Jimmy and Gorgeous George. Then they were off to Dover. Gary felt very ill.

The ferry was on time. Gary felt ill.

The drive to the ring was uneventful other than Gareth exploiting all the MLís 170bhp on one overtaking move which left the others gasping for breath.

Gary felt ill

George slept lots and dribbled on Jimmys shoulder

They guys arrived at around 3.30pm

The keys for the 205 were collected and the guys had a quick look at Karlís large hole.

Nick Jason and Sean went off to the apartments and Gary and the rest went to the ring haus. There was a mistake with the bookings and things didnít look good for a while. Eventually all was sorted though.

Up to the track and there was time to get a couple of nice quiet laps in. Gary took (Nick) Das Chin out for a lap and everything felt ok.
On the next lap something was not right. On exiting the Karousel the car veered to the left violently. Gary took his helmet off quicker and slowed right down. Each time he took his hand off the wheel the car veered and clunked. A drive shaft was on its way out. The car was gingerly taken to Ollys and left to be repaired.

Nicks car was running well, if a little hot
Jason starter motor packed up so another trip was required to Ollys to see if that could be resolved.

At the end of the evening the guys had a beer in the Beer Grunne Holle to talk over the days events.

Later in the evening they went to the Pistenklause to listen to Seanís funny stories and Thorleifs new left foot brake pedal
The guys retired at around midnight. The end of a long day couldnít come quick enough for some.

Jimmy kept Gary awake for most of the night with his legendary snoring.

As George was the baby of the group he had to be soundly thrashed at every opportunity, something he grew to enjoy. This started on Saturday morning.

An early start to the day and after breakfast the guys went to Pflantzgarten to watch the GLP

Then it was down to Ollys to drop the golf off and meet Nick and Jason.
George cooked the breakfast while there

Jimmy was looking the part as usual

As there was plenty of time to spare the guys decided to go to the Rodelbahn. After driving the Caterham to the apartments Nick asked Gary to drive it as he only had his flip flops and it was therefore difficult for him to do so. Gary took up the offer with relish.

As usual the Rodelbahn didnít fail to disappoint. Weeman said he was going to come along too when John R and the others arrived. Gary got a text from him a little later saying he was at the one 50kmís away, even though he had been given decent directions. The plonker.

Constable Goody was early on the brakes.
Shaun did 5 laps and spent the rest of the time hollering down the slope, Ďídonít you brake, donít you touch that brakeíí He could be heard for miles around.
Nick looked like a squashed spider.
Jason was Ė well Jason

Pretty much everyone crashed and burned. Garethís Germolene was very much in demand

The guys decided to go to Daun for a coffee. It just so happened that the centre was being used as a service area for the Eifel rally. To say there was some interesting machinery there would be an understatement. The cars were being driven in anger but not against the clock. There value was too high, most being irreplaceable.
A rather interesting German Porsche was also on the scene

Back to Ollys to pick up the golf which had been fixed, then everyone up to the track to have a drink while the bike race finished.

A replica of Garethís new car was in evidence

Gary, Gareth, Jimmy and George went to Weirsheifen to take a few pictures. The track was mad busy. This guy span and ended up in the in field without visibility of the oncoming traffic. Gary, Gareth and Jimmy had to flag until a gap was big enough for him to get back on track again.

Weeman was in town
As were loads of others.

This chap needs to take a bow for the picture to follow later in the report

After the track closed the guys went to the Pistenklause again. Thorleif and Ed invited the guys to join them for a meal. A rather interesting affair resulting in a beer mat fight, which wasnít appreciated by another table. Mr Oak and Raoul having paper aeroplane fights, which Raoul won convincingly. Jason managed to spill a whole pint over Jonís lap. At the end of the evening Nick thought his car had been stolen, however all was revealed when it found to have been simply moved by Weeman and others. Gareth had consumed more than his usual one small beer and gabbled incoherently all the way back to the ring haus.
A 1.30am finish to the day.

Another early start getting to the track for 8am. Jason kindly offered Gary the keys to the Golf for a lap. Gary really enjoyed driving what was a beautifully set up car.
New member Andy handed Gary the keys to his 350 bhp stripped RA Subaru for a lap. Even on road tyres the car showed good potential.
After the usual time spent chatting to new and pending Northloop members the guys decided to go to Mini Karousel to take a few pictures. The off road ability of the ML meant that the walk was reduced to the minimum. On arrival the guys watched Nige and Ian helping a guy who had blown his Astra up. When the track re-opened there were some nice pictures to be got, including Garyís picture of the weekend.

Not the full ticket
Do I stand or do I run?
Take a bow sir

The guys went to Adenau to cool down. The temperature was 33 degrees with clear blue skies. Most of the others were in the sports bar so it was a good time for a chat.
Nick passed Gary the starter for the Caterham and told him to take it for a lap.
The Caterham suffers from an electrical issue meaning it has to be bump started. This was going to be a problem, as it also has a tick over problem, meaning it wont.
After Gary stalled it a couple of times Nick got a little tired.
The first half of the lap from Adenau was a nightmare. A glut of GT3ís and CSLís descended on Gary and Nick and with visibility at a minimum Gary wasnít enjoying it. As the caterham rounded Galgenkopf Nick gave Gary the mother and father of all Bollockings. ĎíWhat the fxxk are you doing, stop fxxxxxg about get your foot to the floor and drive it. Youíre driving one of the fastest cars here, so stop mucking about.íí Gary needed that and for the second lap he relaxed and drove with more conviction. He really enjoyed himself.

Back at the track Jason took Gary for a lap in the Caterham, Gary really enjoyed it.
Gary had a final lap of the day in the Turbo Elise with Bob. He said that the car had serious grunt.

The guys nipped back to the hotel to get ready for a meal at the Italian in Adenau. Sean and George had a little challenge match
Northloop sticker on the ring haus door
Nick, Jason and Sean arrived in style
Sean held court again
Jason and Sean decided to make a run for the ferry and go home that night rather than waiting for the morning
Gary, Nick, Jimmy and George walked a bit of the track

Nick took his glass of beer with him, even though the others told him not too. Like a plum he managed to break the glass by biting it
Gary decided he fancied a sleep
As did George
And Jimmy
One for Steve Gill
George doing his first lap

Back to the PK for a couple of beers with Dave and the rest.

An early start picking Nick up at 7.10am
A long trip home due to a traffic jam near Brussels. This Skyline owners club sign was seen on the way

After dropping everyone else off Gareth took Gary to the Rover and he drove home to Hampshire, arriving at 7.30pm.

So why is this called Bingo and the boys on tour I hear you ask. We have Das Chin (Nick) to thank for that. Ever seen old ladies who pay Bingoís arms before? They have that flabby bit underneath. They arenít the only ones

Karl - your birth certificate explicitly states you need to stand against this kind of photo. A 3 day ban for the offenders should suffice

Top drawer report Gary!

I thought it was only us who hit the traffic in Belgium?! Luckily the young ladies at P&O made it right for us when we got to the port 2 hours late!!!!

Looking foward to the next report fella, its the closest thing available to a "ring fix" untill we are out there again.

Take it easy,
