It didn't get off the ground but lots of hard work was put in by many and most drivers did get to Goodwood for Mission Motorsports 6th Anniversary. Just a few pics as Neil Mac will be along soon to upload the 3000 he took.

One of the two Carrera GTs this chap owns

One of 3 Factory DB2s built for the 1950 Le Mans. This has the blue grill, one had a red one and one ...a white one. Great for ID'ing the cars...except at night. So they fitted lights (of sorts) in blue, red and white.

Owned by a relative (great grandson rings a bell) of some chap called Churchill and often driven by his estate manager Tony Green. A previous driver is a chap called Moss, Stirling Moss.

A McLaren F1 was due to turn up, as was some Lamborghini Hurrysomethingorother.
With nothing much for me to do and the return drive in potentially bad conditions, I called it a day and set off home....passing an F1 and Lambo about 10 minutes later.....I'm sure Neil will be along shortly with tales of daruing do.
No track action, no smiley squaddies getting in and out of mad cars but still good to catch up with folk and those beneficiaries that did make it, at least got car control/skid pan stuff to do. :thumb:

Keep it up MM. Great work. :karl:

Some lovely cars!

Shame about the weather.

Indeed. They are obviously not garage queen cars but I imagine there's some serious salt cleaning going on before they're put away.

Great pics, Dave. Glad you got the proper camera out. :thumb:

I took fewer than normal, but I was supposed to be working. 3 hours of directing traffic in temperatures climbing towards a balmy 1 degree got in the way a bit. Then the sun came out, the snow melted and it was considerably more pleasant.

Andrew Frankel managed a lap, but he was driving slowly in something suitably capable:

MM Trustee Meyrick Cox is on his 3rd and 4th Carrera GTs. The black one in the Porsche museum is his, and this is the one he drives as often as he can:

The McLaren F1 arrived late, as he was getting Paul Lanzante (McLaren and racing car specialist) to have a look at something on it first thing this morning. The owner has two F1s, this one and a GTR. Naturally.

Francois was very laid back and happy to have people literally crawl all over his car. Amazing thing.

Somehow, as the track was closed and only the skid pan was operating, the F1, Carrera GT and Lamborghini Huracan Performante Superextremo trooped down for a few wild skids. The F1 does not look easy to slide around.

Bonkers.

P.S. spot the similarity...

I hope there is some video of this somewhere.

Jim was closer to the action with his iPhone :thumb:

It wasn't the drift-god action we're used to from Needell and Harris. It looked a real handful, in fact. 630bhp through a sharp clutch on a slick surface is not easy to manage.
