Yes, I know that anyone who's anyone will be on DriveTribe but I said I'd keep putting any sort of report on here....so here's a less wordy pic heavy report.
LeJoG looks to be a great 4 day endurance event with cars as late as 1982/3 by what I could see. Thanks to Alan (Autohabit) I managed to plan an afternoon watching it go within 30 miles of home. (A few years ago I first became aware of it when we'd had out Sunday stroll...to the pub...and soon found loads of old classics driving in to the car park..I've seen it a few times since)
For any of you old enough to remember what it was like to follow the RAC rally;
Up at silly o'clock, drive to Dalby/insert many other forest names here, clamber through the forest to watch the 4am procession of stars in cars...and the lower orders in their run what u brung. Then get back to your car and drive to the next forest....as 100s of others were also doing...sleeping in cars, drinking from luke warm flasks....utterly brilliant ! Ooops, I'm off on one...well, this afternoon felt a little like that.
Saw the same few cars and folk taking snaps and obviously the same few 'rally' cars.
They'd set off yesterday, Saturday, and today had to cross the moors between Slaidburn and Bentham...at least that's what I figured they'd do when I looked at my maps (anyone else still prefer them to Satnav or will it be just me?)
Sure enough in Slaidburn a lovely 1970 Alfa rolled up. Polite chaps and nice to have a minutes chat.

This was it a few miles along the road....and waving as they went by.

We left Slaidburn and found a lovely sunny, summer like place to watch the world go by.....it was bloody freezing, a biting wind making the dragon so cheery and happy and at one with the world.
Some stuff came past.

I had a 1980 Mk 1 Mars Red 1.6 Gti back in about 1989. Seeing them always brings a smile to my face and a 'what if I could have stored it...' bet Sim has no such thoughts!

Not 10 minutes after we'd seen the Range Rover go past, it had a little coming together with a random feller in his newish SLK Mercedes in a slow speed head on sort of way. I'd be surprised if there was any change out of 10k for reports to the SLK. The RR needs a new spotlight. Seriously

We moved location and wound our way up the hill to the top of the world. A stunning road that gets pretty much no traffic. Worth finding if you're in that wasteland they call Northern England....

This Z sounded fabulous.

Wife hates having her photo taken....so I am a bit annoying..so she says.

Just above the Saabs NS wing mirror you can see a vehicle further down the road...to give a sense of scale.

Support car told us there weren't many left...I was frozen daft so we buggered off over the hill and down into Bentham...where an auto test type thing was happening in what passes for an industrial estate in Bentham. If you like that sort of thing, Atkinson Vos are based here. Lots of really cool Unimogs to see (when they're open)

One out, one in

After about 15 cars went whizzing round some cones..I got a bit bored. There were no proper skids.
Bentham Golf Club was the next stop.
The overflow car park had a few nice things in it. Loved this MGB. I'd really like a Sebring Replica (Karl, was I dreaming or does your dad have one ?)

Some great stuff parked up in the GC Car Park. It really made me want to do this event one day. The camaraderie seemed first rate.

Excellent work, Dave.

Your contribution to my Drivel Tribe is also much appreciated :thumb:

While I have your attention, any idea what this is on the 911's rear wheel?

Neil, Your tribe is spot on for me with my eclectic mix of vehicles...going from a Hilux to a Yaris to a z4 Coupe to a 5 series to a Transit...
I think it's the support bracket for some form of snow chain type thing ?

Jim, Only been over a couple of times before and thought then, I need to bring my push bike. :thumb:

Looks like you made a good day of it Dave. We were thinking of going to Bentham, but we decided on The Green Man at Inglewhite instead, followed by a spot of lunch.

I saw that purple 911 GT3 RS near Skipton later this afternoon.

Here are a few of my pics (Hope you don't mind me gatecrashing your thread)
