So....
I had booked Rockingham only a couple of weeks ago. It was a bit of a last minute thing, but I just couldn't wait to get out on track, and wanted to test the car out and make sure everything was all right before Silverstone in November.
It was booked direct with Rockingham and was on a Sunday so great with work.
Last minute prep was completed on the Friday and Saturday and frankly I was shattered. Only got a few hours sleep Saturday night (wine induced). The briefing was at 9.30 an hour after usual kickoff so the extra hour was helpful indeed.
Normally we get quite a cohort coming to trackdays but there wasnt even one person I knew on this one so it was just me and my dad. Unfortunately my dad is still recovering from a back op so decided to avoid sitting with me in the car.

The morning basically consisted of multiple redflags including about 3 crashes and one huge oil spill. The driving out on track when there was actually any going on was horrific. I constantly found myself sitting in long queues waiting for consent to overtake and then I would just get overtake by various cocks from behind who were too impatient. There was also a lot of overtaking on corners and wrong side overtakes going on. The organiser actually stopped the running at about 1130 and got us all back in the garage and named and shamed a couple of people and gave everyone a good telling off.

Anyhow the car was running sweet. Took me a while to get used to it again but my confidence was definitely building. I was stopping between sessions just to check for leaks etc and tweak tyre pressures. I found I was able to just pull third out of the hairpins rather than get it in 2nd and end up with the inevitable limiter bashing. I ran on the lower boost setting (15/16 psi- 378bhp) which frankly was plenty I found. Easily enough to deal with ariel atoms and a pretty well driven R500 superlight also. I did play with the higher boost setting and the extra 40bhp is indeed very noticeable. The brand new R888 rears were offering plenty of grip and I seemed to be able to lean on the brakes quite a lot too. I found a hot temp of 28psi all round worked well.

By the afternoon all the retards had either crashed or blown up so there were some clearer laps, but I dont think I managed one full clear lap the whole day as there was always someone in front. :(

Called it a day about 4pm and when looking over the engine at noticed a drip from the oil drain braided pipe- so need to sort this.

Heres some piccies my dad took from the day and a couple of videos showing the clearest sessions are currently uploading

Was your Dad standing on a steep slope for some of the pictures?

Glad the car behaved, Karan & it does go rather well, doesn't it :thumb:

Oh & got told off by Big Chris for holding onto the gear stick rather than the steering wheel :nono:
