Having looked back through my pics, I realise I didnt take that many. However, I'll post what I have to pack out some of the drivel I'm about to type.....

So, our Easter trip started here. My folks, Phil and his son had been visiting us in Leuchars so we travelled back down south together for our first leg of the journey to Nurburg.

Jemma drove pretty much 90% of the 430 mile trek down to Milton Keynes and managed to get 40 mpg avge from the Megane. This was south of Glasgow, so we'd already travelled 90 miles :veryhappy:

Not bad from a 2.0ltr turbocharged track weapon ;)

We had left Josh at his Nans the week before and we were leaving Bethany for the long weekend. This way we were just taking the two boys (aged 12 & 5) - both petrolheads already.

Leg 2 was early doors, 0350 to be exact. We were booked on the 0810 P&O from Dover-Calais so we left at just after 0400 from MK. I filled the car with fuel at Dover and we got on the earlier 0720 crossing.

Someone was eager to get to the "Burburgring"...........

We rolled off the ferry just before 1000 local at the temp gauge was already showing 15 degrees. Winner!

A couple of hours later, we arrived at the car park of the Fuchsrohe (having just missed peach by about 90 secs too by the looks of things :( ) and was greeted by Michaela who promptly showed us to our room.

I had booked early so we had the 4 man / family suite :thumb:

Ethan was chuffed to find that Michaela had baked him a belated birthday cake which sat on his bedside table along with a present and a card. Bless you!

Josh soon found the PS3 setup and this is the position he adopted for pretty much most of the weekend.

Ethan donned his Stig outfit and went to the bar. I've no idea where he gets all this from :fish:

I took 10 mins to wander around the hotel, what a fantastic set up. The photos on the website don't do it justice. Well done Michaela :veryhappy:

Look what I found in the bar :chin: :D

Soon after arriving, I text Stu Screacher and Mike to see what they were up to. Stu was at Hatzenbach and Mike was just getting home from work. We popped to meet Stu at Hatzenbach, however as we arrived there was a closure so we headed back and when we returned Mike was sat on the patio waiting for us. Ideal time to get the first Bitburg down the hatch then :D .

The rest of the evening was spent chilling out at the Fuchsrohe, Nige popped up to say hello and around 8pm Ian Howell and Jude arrived. By now, Mike had thinned out to set up his dwelling at camp pinder as he had been evicted by Heidi for the weekend  . We ate at the BBQ, drank more beer with Stu and had a chat with AGT when he popped in for a beer. We finished the evening off with teaching Ian, Jude and Stu to play schock. Teffers declined the invite even though no nasty shots were consumed  and sadly, this was the only game we played over the whole weekend :( .

Bloody knackered, at around 1am we went to bed.

More to follow.....

Good to meet you again, but as always, there never seems to be enough time.

Likewise :thumb:. Even another week still wouldn't have been long enough!

Being a family weekend and due to insurance worries, I hadnít planned on doing any lapping at all, therefore we had a nice lay in until about 0930. Breakfast was set up downstairs and it was lovely; bacon, sausages, beans, scrambled egg and all the other continental stuff you would expect.

Stu was up too. Heíd done all the lapping he wanted to do during the week and with a few days left he had no plans made. Quite literally, myself and Jemma suggested we head to Cochem as Stu hadnít been before. By now Mike Solo had text me to see what I was doing and he said he would join us too. Half hour later and weíre on our way.

Quick 5 mins at the viewing place, I will never get tired of this view.

Mike then suggested we head up to the Castle. We had been there already so we knew how much of a lick out the walk up was. Mike said donít worry, I know a short cut to the car park near the entrance. To be fair, he did say we would be dirving through town, I didnt think he meant it literally though  . The streets are very narrow and the Megane isnít, if Jemma wasn't embarrassed now, it was only going to get worse later  .

To be fair, it did save a hell of a walk  .

I'm sure Stu will agree

Again, the views here are stunning.

Ethan, the human canonball....

Whilst we were up at the Castle, I got a phone call from Teffers. As it happened he was in Cochem too with Gary and his family as well as Paul and his family. On that, we decided to head down into town and catch up with them.

Funnily enough, Mike knew another short cut. What could possibly.........

For those that haven't experienced the pleasure of Cochem, this, is the pedestrianised zone in the Market Square......

:shout: SOLO :karl:  :rolf:

After a load of abuse towards the English fools in their gold car we parked up and went and found Gary and co who were having lunch. They had booked a boat trip down the Mosel so we decided to join them and got some tickets ourself.

More to come......

Having seen the video of you driving through the streets, I felt embarassed for you. I bet you were wishing for blacked out windows to avoid the angry glares :shame:

So.....we got our tickets, loaded a couple more euros on the parking, grabbed a quick ice cream and headed off to the river boat. As we did so, Gary, Teffers and co were boarding too so Teffers grabbed a few rows of seats on the top deck.

Myself and Mike reviewed the video I took of our epic short cut

If I can get round to editing it, I'll upload it later.

Me and Jem caught up with Gary, Emma, Teffers and Maddie and also met Paul and his wife. We each got a drink in and made the most of the glorious weather. Ethan played nicely with the other kids and Josh took off with my camera so the majority of the next few pics were taken by him....

Love this pic. Reminds me of that advert where the kids are in charge :rolf:

Going through the lock

The castle that Teffers gobbed off about running up.

A quick 15 min walk around Beilstein and we were heading back to Cochem.

Back in Cochem we grabbed some Pommes for Ethan and set off back to Nurburg, but not before stopping for a cold one or a coffee at Hotel Wilhemsohe. Gary wanted to say hello to Jaqueline so the kids had an hour to play in the lovely grounds. Me and Jemma stayed here on our first trip back in 2004, we had forgotten how nice it was.

We then headed back to the Fuchsrohe to freshen up for the meal at the CC. I didnt take any pics at all that evening but suffice to say, Jorg delivered the goods and it was nice to catch up with other Northloopers. Unusually, we left early around 2230 due to the kids but not before saying hello to Jorg and promising to call in again on Sunday.

Back to the Fuchsrohe bar, a few more beers then bed :thumb:
