Another day out with my mate John and his noisy little French thing.
5:30am departure from London took us up to Snetterton where we hoped the present Fog would lift around lunchtime...

I hadn't seen this circuit before, but the three slow greasy foggy Sighting laps were enough to show me why John enjoys lapping here so much - fast, fast, FAST!
Looks so simple on paper, but it must be epic in the dry.
Some really nice cars had shown up, almost everything there had a cage and proper tyres.

Noise Test results were high for everybody, it seemed - theory was that the dense fog might be deflecting the sound back and making each car seem louder.
John's Clio is usually around 98-100dB static but here we only just scraped through with a reading of 104.5dB :o
This lovely MGC GT was deemed too loud also, and had to be subdued;

There was also a rather lovely Firenza there.
First time on track in about 20 years, and two years or so in build according to the owner.
Failed the noise test too, so out came a big saw... :(

It was getting colder, and the fog wasn't lifting.
10 o'clock came and went and the Pit Lane had still failed to open due to such poor visibility.
I wandered about to snap some of the other cars that caught my eye. Some cool, simple stuff.

The Clio remained alone and empty for much of the morning :(

The E46 further up the page was a pretty serious car. I liked this a lot.

And that green MGC was just filth. Cool as f**k.

However, it seemed that none of us would get the chance to see and hear these cars out on track that day :( At 11:45am the day was called off, refunds and credits all round.
John and I trailered up the car and headed off the Newmarket for lunch before disappearing back dahn Sahf.

The End.

What a shame.

The yellow 306 was there on the NL day I think.

Good job you got a credit then :thumb:

I did a four hour session at Knockhill last weekend. A car dropped it's oil on half of the track less than hour in. Took the next 2 hours to get it open again

Fortunately, I`ve never been on a TD that was cancelled due to Fog. Would be bloody frustrating. !

Good on the TDO for refunding you :thumb:

I once went out to the ring and that was closed all day due to fog, I came home after Zero laps :(

Duncan did Mallory last week, I`m sure he said he only got an hour on track due to the Fog..

I was there too. Well frustrating and they ended up letting some people out for an hour or so, in that fog. Was damn dangerous and witnessed a complete write off of a quite new car coming out of Gerrards. Enough to make me come in and not go out again - not that we could....

Hoping for some kind of recompense out of the organisers still.
