Any pictures mate?

Sounds like fun bar the closures.

Hope the weather stays good all October!

Probably the shortest Northloop trip report to date ........... other than Simon's which said ''refer to Gary's report''

Concise, I agree! But it's a report nonetheless! :thumb:

Anyone know what happened with the incident on DH Sunday? I saw a busted up bike and an M3 with the rear end bashed in.

If I were to make a blind guess I'd say maybe the new DH barrier lane claimed its first victim and the car maybe moved left into the path of the throughcomming biker. Just speculation though, anyone know more?

Jorrit
04-10-2006, 10:59 AM
I stoped at that accident to wave yellow flag.

Most likely the M3 moved to the left to do 1 more lap
The bike was speeding and looking down to see if he can reach the 299KMh

It was an accident waiting to happen. Rookie bikers driving slow thru the lap, and than trying to reach 299KMH at the DH for the kicks off it. There is a speed limit over there sow its verry stupped.

Karl

"If" that is what happened, it won't be the last time  When I was waiting in the another lap lane on the left and there was an equally long lane waiting to come off on the right of DH two bikers came down the middle of the lanes doing easily 100mph + on their back wheels.

Dave Evans
04-10-2006, 11:27 AM
Yeah it was predicted from the moment the DH barrier was installed and we're definitely going to see it repeated (I'm a big fan of the DH barrier and the traffic improvements btw). I wonder if it would be better to put the DH barrier on the right side (leave space for one lane between it and the righthand track edge). Might keep everyone thinking about moving right as they come down DH and slow down rather than occasional surprise moves to the left as people select the DH barrier.

Of course it would help if people would look in their mirrors, indicate properly, and not speed through the slow traffic but we know for some idiots thats not going to change.

Anyone know how the biker is?

there seemed to be crashes everywhere on sunday ,first lap saw volvo estate/2 bikers/gt3 and another biker all seperate incidents.i just looked too busy as soon as it reopened 20-30 cars go straight out accident waiting to happen
lightweight :shame: i will have you know i am still 15 stone
best bit of trip was wife feeling sick so HAD to eat 2 steaks on a stone :affection:

Yeah the morning driving was especially stupid. It was obviously damp and greasy in places, and the weather was looking good so it wasn't going to be long before the track was nice and dry yet lots of people went mental right from the off and crashed.

Amazing that people risk ruining their 3 day trip by binning it on lap 2 for the sake of just waiting 1 hr for things to dry out.

I did one lap before been stopped for having a car that was 113db, so I went to ring racing who charged me about 300 to fit a silencer, went back to find it was still 107db, then blew my head gasket on the way back to ring racing. Quality trip.

We did a slow lap in the modeo, I've never been so scared in my entire life. Amateur hour.

Pete - Was your the LHD GTI-6? That was the only 306 I could see. Spotted M3 YRT in the car park. Nice Cage

Yep, the cage in the Integra was a work of art. That is one well prepped car. Not sure I'd have liked to be in it for the 700 mile drive home though!

bloody hell Pete, you drove it all the way there at 113db ?? That would have driven me mad. http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/konfus/c018.gif

Bad luck about the head gasket. :(

Nige he took it there on a trailer.

pete_rallye
05-10-2006, 09:16 AM
yeah, trailer'd it there and back. You'd of been lucky to spot my car as it was only at the nordschliefe for a brief period, but no it isn't lhd. The noise thing was my own stupid fault, but I couldn't believe it when the head gasket went. I even passed up a ride in the ring taxi with sabine to go and get my exhaust sorted too!

Russ' integra was amazing when it was a standard car, with the cage, shocks and soon some AP's it'll be unstoppable!

Hi Pete,

Nice to meet you, sorry it wasn't a successful trip for you.

When I arrived at Ring Racing the first time you were just leaving to head for the track with 113db, and we could hear your exhaust on the B258 even when you were getting on for a kilometre away ;) Our first comment was he'll be lucky to get on. You were back soon after :D

Better luck nex time!

Was a great weekend, was nice to put faces to names.
On Sunday I was second out at opening and on my second lap a Silver Punto was already in the barrier just before Eschbach  , airbags the lot gone off. What a great start to his day? bet he wished he had gone to church

The CSL was a mess and the biker??

Think they need to put a chicane in on the fast straight before the new mobile gate.

I'd love to know what kind of setup you need to get 113db out of a 306!

try an exhaust made in a hurry which is a straight through 2 1/2" pipe with no boxes and 48mm throttle bodies sucking air in... it's quite noisy!

Martin STI
05-10-2006, 11:25 AM
So it is you I need to sue for being deaf :thumb:

Hard luck with the noise issue. Ring Racing werent working on Tuesday when I needed wishbone straightening after a brush with the armco. Had to adjust the tracking, was ok but set up was no good for fast right hand corners though. :gay:

Was a Bank Holiday so cant blame him. :( :fishing:

Home and in Prosport Subaru being sorted as I type. Might have to sell my daughter to pay the bill. :thumb:

Feck. I've been in a 205 with a GTI-6 engine with a OMP Group A/NM jobby on it and that was over 100bds (and made my ears bleed)

Hope you get it sorted out soon. Shitter about the headgasket. Just an excuse to try and find a few more horses though :)

Im,glad i was in me wet car(that i thought gripped like glue in the wet).
All me mates were standing at the viewing point, where we had left them for a couple of laps.
I had it full lock and me foot flat down but i obviously left it too late.
Teach me to show off...every time,it goes wrong :gayfight:
Still it gave me mates a laugh, and a few more to come,i suspect.
Not quite as good as the bloke in the white 5 series

Kinda disapointing trip with pete's car giving up again and another one of our mates cars expiring before dover. Integra was reliable as always, needed a pad change on tuesday however. Only done 15 laps due to weather and crashes, but all was not lost got a passenger ride in Daves 944, B) cheers dave, nice to see some regular faces and meet some new ones, bring on april!

It was my 1st trip and deffo not the last, I had a great trip as a passenger with MAD RUSS in the Teg, despite 1700miles in a fixed back seat, no carpets, no radio and no heating, Thank god of ear plugs!!!!

The phrase ("Are we there yet?") echoed around the car a number of times through out the week!,

Its a shame about Petes car, but it was very loud, but better luck next time,.

And I was very impressed and surprised with Daves 944 Turbo, what a great car!! totally not what I expected, Being a huge BMW fan I thought it was amazing pulling in and passing a well driven CSL, respect!! :D
