After a pretty busy week getting the two mighty Fezza’s up together we loaded up the race car onto the trailer and set off on the 30 mile trip down to Sparkford.

Met the others and got unloaded…………….

Signed the disclaimer forms, got a quick brief off Gary and lined up for our first session.
Ed was third out and I jumped in to give him a few pointers………….

Being able to go where you want in any direction you want is absolutely bloody brilliant and makes the track a lot of fun!!!!

Tried playing with the suspension settings and went out on “max soft” all round first.

Session two and Jim took Dad out for a gentle spin in Jude’s car…………

Ed got better and better as the day went on, noticeably smoother and more confident.

Session two – Suspension “Max Hard” (Note to self – A bit too bouncy)

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l160/RS500_Will/Haynes%20Feb%2009/DSC00244.jpg

I snuck out when Gary wasn’t looking……..

Less grass than usual……….

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l160/RS500_Will/Haynes%20Feb%2009/DSC00246.jpg

Ed’s third session, Dad jumped in…………

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l160/RS500_Will/Haynes%20Feb%2009/DSC00247.jpg

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l160/RS500_Will/Haynes%20Feb%2009/DSC00249.jpg

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l160/RS500_Will/Haynes%20Feb%2009/28022009515.jpg

After the comedy value of super hard suspension I went for the half way point front and back to see how that worked (some handbrake action may have been indulged)…….

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l160/RS500_Will/Haynes%20Feb%2009/PICT0043.jpg

After lunch Gary devised a sprint circuit/time trial that we would all do. Some found it easier than others to remember it! (I went wrong on my first go)

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l160/RS500_Will/Haynes%20Feb%2009/PICT0045.jpg

….but I think the dog distracted me

Last minute advice to Ed before his go……….

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l160/RS500_Will/Haynes%20Feb%2009/PICT0047-1.jpg

He did really well considering he probably had about 50bhp if he was lucky!!!

Luckily we all got a second go and I managed to remember which way to go, only being hindered with a slight “2nd gear to 3rd gear but getting 1st episode” resulting in lots of revs and the gearbox trying to lock up the wheels!

It was a lot of fun and you couldn’t help but feel competitive about the whole thing, top marks to Gary for bending the rules and allowing us to do it.

That done we resumed normal play, Ed went out again…………..

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l160/RS500_Will/Haynes%20Feb%2009/PICT0054.jpg

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l160/RS500_Will/Haynes%20Feb%2009/PICT0055.jpg

Damn, that’s a fine looking car if I do say so myself………..

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l160/RS500_Will/Haynes%20Feb%2009/PICT0057.jpg

The day finished with a “Gay-X 5” photo shoot………..

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l160/RS500_Will/Haynes%20Feb%2009/DSC00250.jpg

It was an absolutely fantastic day that everyone enjoyed immensely.
It is a cracking little gem of a circuit that I will definitely be going back to in the future.
I learned a fair bit about the suspension settings on the Fezza and will hope to further improve it when I go up to Snetterton next Friday.

The night was just as brilliant and I can’t thank Jim enough for organising it and generally being a bloody good bloke!
Much alcohol was consumed, much banter was exchanged and a brilliant time was had by all. If I’m feeling brave I might post up the video clips I’ve got?

I’ll post up my videos of the day as soon as I can. :thumb:
