Judging by the work powder coating they did on my suspension wishbones, they're a good outfit.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's with the Mk2 with the droop snoot type angled nose? :shame:

RS2000 - That particular one runs a Cosworth conversion and I think used to be owned by "MAD DOG" who posts on here occasionally.

This is my mate Fraser bending his Mk2: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wgpv9EfHnx4

All this Mk2 action is REALLY making me want one. Maybe one needing a little bit of TLC but I really do want one. Mk1 or 2, I'm really not fussy.

A Mk1 would have to be a white TC with a black bonnet. A Mk2, an RS1800 with Cibies :D

Expensive taste or what?

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y100/autohabit/OOO98MFinland1975.jpg

The 1000 Lakes Rally 1975, British co driver Martin Holmes had managed to secure a ride alongside Finnish driver Jussi Kynsilehto, unfortunately the pairing had not had a chance to carry out the pre rally recce, they were given a copy of pace notes prepared by Timo Makinen and Henry Liddon, Makinen had won the 1000 Lakes four times, so they had to be good notes right?

The part of the stage where the Escort became one of the most famous airborne rally cars ever - Well, there were a series of crests, a small one, a medium one and finally a huge jump (or yump in Timo's case)

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y100/autohabit/1975Kynsiletho.jpg

When Holmes emerged dazed from the upside down car, he was interested to know what had gone wrong? After walking up and down the stage several times, Holmes concluded that his understanding of Henry Liddon's pace notes could not have been the same as Mr Liddon's himself.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y100/autohabit/75Kynsiletho.jpg

Liddon later explained that Timo Makinen makes 'special' notes, he does not record what he knows or what he can actually see, you could see the first small crest was not worth mentioning. When Holmes suggested to Liddon that perhaps he could have done with that information prior to the rally, Liddon replied 'I was only asked to let you have the pace notes, not the user manual as well'

You don't see many running big wheels on these. Seems to work well though. Imo it's probably the quickest out there on tarmac atm. And for a guy who's probably in his fifties, he can really pedal it.

He was keeping up with McRae on the only Irish event he managed in his Escort.
