Hi all,

Most poeple thought that myself and Geoff H were crazy going to the 'Ring in winter. But, this weekend was fantastic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :veryhappy:

We left home about 01 00hrs Sat morn to make the 05 30 ferry, to arrive at Adenau about 13 30Hrs.

We met Michaela at the hotel about 14 00hrs where upon she said "get a move on the 'ring closes at 15 00hrs" we droped our kit and were escorted to the start line.

we both managed two laps before it closed for the day. What a buzz driving the 'ring for the first time :D :D :D :D

The evening was spent walking through the town followed by a wonderful meal and a couple of :drink: back at Blaue ecke. An early night was needed.

Next morning after a lovely breakfast and another strole through the town the beasts were ignited and we drove back to the start line. We managed four laps before time beat us and we had to make a dash for the ferry home. We are now proud owners of cars with 'ring stickers on, bought and earned at the only real place to do either :thumb:

We made it back home at 01 00hrs Mon morning completing a journey of 1080 miles in exactly 48Hrs. Had to start work at 05 00hrs so have not had a chance to compile any stats on fuel and costs yet, or process any pictures.

This is the bare bones of the weekend and shall add more flesh in the near future.

Look forward to chatting to many of you about it

A big thank you to anyone who offered us tickets to use and advise about our trip, it was an amazing experience, that must be repeated as often as possible.

Crazy? I don't think so.

Hi All,

yeah we made it and we will do an in depth thingy soon

Funny though that Snakes DIDN'T mention that:

He missed the turn on the Brussels Ring road and COMPLEATLY missed Holland

Went sideways on his second lap of The 'Ring

And dispite being the lead car on The Mission back to the Boat, He managed to miss our boat and was put on the next sailing

Still it was a brilliant week-end

Russ, our chariots are a couple of Subaru Legacy Imports :veryhappy:

Oh, and if you do ever get to Adenau and find The Blaue Ecke Hotel then you have to try the Tomato Soup. It is Fabulous!!

It was sideways in a 'The 'Ring can bite you' sort of way :D

And I was following him so all I got was as I came over the hill Snakes was across the road in front of me. THAT is why I had no brakes for the rest of the lap!

Hey VEE, tell your Niece that she had better be VERY Good for the rest of the year as I am watching her ;)

Track conditions were very good on Sunday and we did notice a few cars going past us

We are already planning a return visit in the summer, but no dates yet, will keep eyes peeled for others going :D

Yeah, I know it's late but.............................

We would like to thank those who helped with 'Ring tickets, Andy, Rick, Michaela and everybody else. This is what made this Raid so good for us.
I know should have put this up at the begining of this topic but, as you might understand, we were on a bit of a high.

So, thanks again to everybody who helped make this week-end what it was...................... BRILLIANT!!!!!

Yes Mate, it was our first trip, but must be said the first of many!!!!

You are right about the cars aswell, over 1000 miles in a weekend and not an acke or pain to show for it.

The Hotel is very good, make sure you meet up with Mickaela, she will let you know everything that you need to.

What date are you going?
