Well after a 2 year delay we finally set off to Germany and the Nurburgring. Packed the car untill it was ready to burst, had a fight with the lock on the roof box  . Set off at 930am on friday the 22nd had a nice steady run to Dover. The team was me Stan, Lou ( my wife ) Madison our little girl of only 14 months, and Edward my brother. Not my son, Karl you bugger ;) . I know i had a hard paper round and look older than 23 but come on  . Checked into the ferry at Dover and the weather was great for a change.

After a calm crossing we has a 15 min drive to the hotel in Dunkirk. The room was a ok with tv and enough room for all of us and the travel cot.

On the way to the ring campsite the main road after the 61 motorway was shut  . We jumped back on the 61 and got off at the next junction. The nav sent us back along the side roads untill we reached the closed road we had been at 20 min earlier :( . (Oops I said the F word)ing sat nav . After a few choice words with the sat nav we arrived at the Ring and then had a drive round untill we found the campsite. Set up the tent and gazebo and opened a beer or 2 :D .

After a cold first night we took some advise from Nige and Lou and left the fan heater on all night. Nice and warm after that and Madi slept alot better.
Had a drive to the animal park with Nige, Simon ,Bruce and Dave and the rest of the family.

On Monday we finally got some laps in at the ring. My first thought was my god this is steep and the fox hole was an eye opener. The carasol was bumpy as hell :o . The Skoda Octavia Diesel Barge was on good form and even with low friction fuel saving tyres i had a great time. Made a few people in very quick cars look a bit slow and i loved it.
The ring car park was full of car porn.

Had a great time and i will be back, its not just the Nurburgring but the great people from the northloop that made our holiday fantastic. Thanks to Andy, Bruce, Nige, Ian for the Pax laps. The advise about the line and clipping points was a great help and kept me and the clan safe :thumb: .

Yes i do Stan!

Louise got a great shot of it, so has jochen.

Just to make things clear for everyone.

I did not underpass him.

I had indicators on for a long way approaching him and he moved over to the right to allow me to pass. He wasn't happy but it was safe!

I passed him on the left as per the rules of the ring.
Don't want people thinking anything badly following this weekend.

Was a great feeling and one of the better moments of the trip :thumb:

Sorry for the hijack but Isabels' finest hour...well few seconds. She saw it going on and insisted we try to follow it....this during one of those Thursday afternoon laps where there may have been 5 cars on at any one time!!

Yes, but you all missed the 'go on dad you wuss, go faster and take him, go on go on go on ,' in true Mrs Doyle fashion...there is a 2nd video showing a 911 Carrera 4s on our next lap, the car had its door numbers on as he was on that course to get some kind of race licence, he may be a contender for a sack race but certainly won't win owt in his porker if my slug cruised past
