Would-be bad boy gangsta rapper Dave
"davyboy" Malings, grew up in Northampton
where he still lives today with his partner Clare. His
love of cars stems from the petrol running through his
veins from a young age.
He competed in Motorcross
for 7 years until the pull of women and alcohol stopped
him from getting an early night on a Saturday for the
start on Sunday mornings.
After a couple of years
in the wilderness owning cars such as an Astra GSi and
Toyota MR2, Dave finally came to his senses and bought
into boy racer heaven in the shape of a MY01 Subaru Impreza
WRX. It had an ITG air filter and ScoobySport exhaust
which added 10% (give or take) onto the meagre horses
to bring it up to approx 250 BHP.
The WRX entered Dave into
the world of track days, first of which was at Donington
in late 2001.
